Beam and post sizing is calculated for our regional snow-load requirements, which matters far more here than in most parts of the country.
Because a pergola or roof adds real weight and wind load, we size footings specifically for that structure rather than reusing standard deck footings.
Posts are properly flashed and attached to prevent water intrusion where the structure meets the deck surface.
We can build an open pergola, a fixed solid roof, or a louvered system that adjusts for sun and rain as your needs call for.
If you want fans, lighting or outlets built in, we coordinate the rough-in with a licensed electrician before the structure is closed up.
Structural and carpentry work on every pergola or covered deck is backed by our two-year workmanship warranty.

Will a pergola actually hold up under Buffalo-area snow?
A properly engineered pergola built for our regional snow load will hold up, but many prefabricated kits are not rated for it. That's why we size the framing ourselves.
Can you add a pergola to a deck you didn't originally build?
Yes, as long as the existing deck framing can support the added structural load, which we verify before starting.
Do covered decks need a permit?
Most roofed or fully covered structures require a permit in our service area, and we handle the filing as part of the project.
Should I choose an open pergola or a solid roof?
It depends on whether you want dappled shade or full rain protection. We'll talk through both during your consultation based on how you plan to use the space.
