Fence Repair & Restoration

A leaning post or a storm-snapped panel doesn't always mean a full replacement. We repair and restore fences of any material, including ones we didn't originally build.

Fence repair replacing damaged pickets by KP Landscaping in Buffalo NY

What's included

Post replacement and resetting

Rotted, cracked or frost-heaved posts get pulled and reset below frost depth in fresh concrete.

Panel and picket replacement

We match existing wood grain, spacing and stain color as closely as the original material allows.

Gate realignment and rehanging

Sagging gates get new hardware, hinges, and if needed a new post to hang square again.

Storm and wind damage repair

Downed sections from spring storms or lake-effect wind get rebuilt to match the surviving fence line.

Rot and rust treatment

We treat and seal repaired wood sections and address rust spots on metal fencing before they spread.

Hardware and fastener replacement

Corroded screws, hinges and latches are swapped for hardware rated to hold up through another WNY winter.

Materials

CedarPT LumberVinylChain LinkAluminum

We source matching material whenever possible, but weathered wood and discontinued vinyl colors sometimes mean a visible seam. We'll tell you honestly what to expect before we start.

Process

From first call to done right.

1

Damage assessment

We inspect the affected section, check surrounding posts for hidden frost or rot damage, and quote the repair.

2

Material matching

We source wood, vinyl or metal components as close to your existing fence as the manufacturer or supplier allows.

3

Repair work

Damaged sections are removed and rebuilt, posts reset in concrete where needed, and hardware replaced.

4

Final inspection

We check the repaired section for level and plumb and confirm gates swing and latch properly before we leave.

★★★★★
"Three posts had heaved after that hard winter and the gate wouldn't latch anymore. They reset all three and it's been solid through another freeze-thaw cycle without a hitch."

Fence Repair & Restoration FAQs

Why do fence posts heave out of the ground in winter?

When posts aren't set below the frost line, freezing and thawing soil can gradually push them upward. Resetting them at the proper depth fixes it for good.

Can you repair a fence you didn't originally install?

Yes, we regularly repair fences installed by other contractors or previous homeowners, regardless of material.

Will my homeowner's insurance cover storm-damaged fence repair?

Many policies cover wind and storm damage to fencing. We can provide a written estimate and photos to support your claim.

Is it cheaper to repair a section or replace the whole fence?

If damage is limited to a few posts or panels and the rest of the fence is sound, repair is almost always the more affordable option.
